Did some work to the car. I'm cleaning up the rear as much as I can. Cutting away everything that's not needed. That's just one shot of some of the work. Of course no one will see the bed because it will all be covered but at least I'll know it looks nice.

Here are a few more shots of the progress. The first picture is the passenger side that is done and the second is the drivers side that I have not started.

Spent a few more hours in the garage tonight and am pretty much finished up with the bed area of the car except for building the tonneau cover. This picture is of the metal cut out of the bed and the two sections of frame rail that I replaced. This next one is of the passenger side all welded up with the inner bed trimmed up. The next is of the passenger side welded and cleaned up. I have just a little more grinding on the frame back there left. I am probably going to notch the frame rails where the tires sit to so I have plenty of room for larger tires if I need more rubber on the ground. This next weekend I'll start tackling the tonneau cover with the help of a buddy of mine who is very good with sheet metal. Next after that is building the rear firewall to close in the passenger compartment of the car. Still so much to be done but it will get done. Tim

Didnt get as much done tonight after work as I wanted. I did get the fuel cell mount fabed up and welded in place. I'm happy with its location. This picture is of where I'm going to mount the fuel pump. Just another small bracket to build and weld on. This is the fuel cell sitting where its new life is. I just need to weld on four brackets for the fuel cell mounting straps then its done. Thats it for now. Its been slow progress lately but this shit takes to much time. Tim

Getting more done each day. I'm sure these little updates are getting old but I'll keep posting them anyhow!! Got my passenger frame boxed back in about 95%. I need to weld and grind some more on the bottom and put in one more piece towards the front of the notch. Kids need to go to bed so no more making noise in the garage tonight. And notches in my fuel cell mount for the straps to bolt it down.

Everything is looking great, and NO the updates don't get old. Lazy people like me love to see the progress. (should be out working on my car, instead of tapping on a keyboard)
One small word of caution about your fuel cell: Tech will want some sheet metal under it. I'm sure somebody else will chime in, or maybe it's already in your plans, but tech is worried about rocks flying up and puncturing it.
Looking real good Tim. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, it's not easy to go out there every day after work but summer will be her soon and I don't want to miss a weekend.
I do have plans on sheeting the entire underside of the bed with 16 gauge. In fact I already have the sheet of steel just gotta get all the other fabrication done down there then I'll be tackling that and the wheel tubs. No one will ever see all the hard work put into the rear because the tonneau cover will hide it all but I'll know it looks good. I think if I left the under side of the bed open like it is and have the cover on the bed the air would push the back of the car up at high speed and that's not something I need.

Nick down at Underground mounted my tires up. I'm very happy with how they turned out. My one question is should I put the weld racing sticker back on the center caps or leave them blank. I'm kinda liking the blank completely blacked out look. The rear is about how I'd like it to sit at ride height, maybe an inch lower. The front here is no where near ride height.

Looking Good! One question though: Whats up with all the sideways shots?

Looking Good! One question though: Whats up with all the sideways shots? My garage is only two car and the mess is behind me when I take the pictures. I'll get one tonight with the garage door open of a shot from the front.
