I agree, Maybe someone needs to talk with mark and earl about Tech for KOS.
Some of these guys may have never ran on a track and have no idea about the belt requirement.
Not all street cars have a 5 point harness. Or their battery isn't bolted down properly, put a strap on it!!
Or a catch can, make one! Or a license. Give them an application. Educate.
Passing Tech for a Race Car should be different then passing Tech for a street car.
I know some of the cars are Race Cars (no names) but their still streetable kind of.
But for those that are street cars, the tech should be a little less stringent but Safety comes first.
We can maybe get more racers or run someone off because of a small problem.
It's all in how it's handled.
I can see this getting better if the KOS track masters help. Dwayne,Scott,Mike,Rick,Clint, who else.
That is why you need to spell out exactly what is needed to run KOS.
Print it and hand them out at car shows and parts shops.
That way, every one knows and no one gets turned away.
KOS:
Must look and be street able.
Full frame, back halved, four link, ladder bars, slapper bars allowed.
Body: only fiberglass hood and trunk lid allowed.
Glass windshield only- No Lexan allowed
Door windows must be functional, roll up and down.
All lights required to be "Street Legal" must work, headlights, tail lights, turn signals, brake lights.
Wipers must be functional, if it's required on the street.
Must have Two Seats or one bench seat. Must be able to carry passenger.
Must have battery bolted down.
Must have catch can for radiator over flow.
Tires: front tires required. Rear tires: No Drag Slicks Allowed. Must be DOT legal. Any size.
Motor: Any size, one power adder allowed, NOS, Blower, Turbo, Rocket, Rubberband, etc.
If your mom won't ride in it, it's not legal.
Must make three laps of ARP without puking or over heating, blowing up, refueling,changing drivers, checking for parts, etc.
OK! You get the idea. It's going to have to be this way or it won't work.
You guys need to spell it out. Plain and simple.
