Put a dial-in on your window and get your ass into the staging lanes! I don't give a crap if I'm staged next to Jay Childs or Bob Lee! ARP is the only place that we have to drag race at so we can enjoy our passion. So we had better appreciate it and support it to the best of our ability! You are entitled to your own opinions - but not your own facts.... Yep, I just wanna race. And I truly don't care who or what I race. Tell me what class I can race in and my car and I will be ready. The last thing I want to do is cause grief for Earl over this. This is how it could and should be: 1) Top Eliminator: 7.10 and Quicker 2) Nostalgia Eliminator: Front Engine Dragsters, Center Steer Altereds, Pre-1980 Funny Cars, Pre-1970 Door Cars (Blown or Injected Alcohol Engines Only) 3) Top Sportsman: 9.99 and Quicker (Electronics) 4) Mod ET: 11.49 and Quicker (No Electronics) 5) Super ET: 11.50 and Slower (No Electronics) 6) Jr. Dragster That's it! Let's make the track some money and us some money! So let's race! I'm going to need a wingman? ;D

I LOVE THIS. Only thing I would change is the blown or injected alcohol thing on the nostalgia eliminator, I think carbs shoul# be allowed too. And make the car cut off 1972, otherwise my truck wouldn't qualify. If we do this nostalgia class with carbs, my mom is willing to step the car up to run the class.

Now if we can get the T/D guys on board with it we will have a home run.

You can count me in. I think it's a great answer to some of the problems. Don't understand why it's not acceptable.

This is how it could and should be: 1) Top Eliminator: 7.10 and Quicker 2) Nostalgia Eliminator: Front Engine Dragsters, Center Steer Altereds, Pre-1980 Funny Cars, Pre-1972 Door Cars & Trucks (Blown or Injected Alcohol Engines Only) 3) Top Sportsman: 9.99 and Quicker (Electronics) 4) Mod ET: 11.49 and Quicker (No Electronics) 5) Super ET: 11.50 and Slower (No Electronics) 6) Jr. Dragster I LOVE THIS. Devin, It would be a perfect class for your Mom and you as well! But I would have to stay with (No carburators! No throttle bodies!). The racer picks an index, (see below). All run, .400 Handicap Pro Tree. You go red, you lose, you break out, you lose, first to finish line wins. Ladder based class, two quickest run each other on down to the two slowest. • Nostalgia Eliminator• 7 Indexes • 7.50, 8.00, 8.50, 9.00, 9.50, 10.00, 10.50 1/4 Mile • Front Engine Dragsters, Center Steer Altereds, (pre-1980) Funny Cars, (pre-1972) Door Cars and Trucks • Blown & Injected or Stack or Hat Injected Methanol-Burning Engines only (no carburetors or throttle bodies allowed) • .400 Handicap Pro Tree, Ladder Based • All Run • This Old School Sportsman competition is based on a modified Chicago-style format. All competitors will make one qualifying run. The first session (round) the cars are paired on a ladder based by elapsed times from the qualifying run. The two quickest cars run each other, on down to the two slowest cars. Same for second session (round), and on down the ladder to the “winner”. • In a TRUE Chicago Style event, the boundaries of each lane are ignored. That is to say, the race is "first to the finish line," regardless of whether a racer runs over the centerline or crosses the outer boundary. (The Hot Rods from Hell altered circuit observes this). However if you go red you lose, if you break-out you lose. • Minimum of IHRA ET license required (9.99 and Quicker) Mighty Mike.... PS: Maybe a Stack Injected Methanol burning 555 for our Chevelle? Tho, I like Earl's Top Sportsman Class a whole bunch!

PS: Maybe a Stack Injected Methanol burning 555 for our Chevelle? Tho, I like Earl's Top Sportsman Class a whole bunch! I just look back through nostalgia photos and see carbed feds and altereds. Why not open it up to make it a bigger class. As the rules stand right now, neither my kother or Robbie huck could of run last year. But, I do agree with the no throttle body thing if that applies to efi. The class will survive if we have the car count. Isn't that the main reason top dragster went down the shitter? Here is what i would like to see to open the class up, • Nostalgia Eliminator • Dial in 1/4 Mile • Front Engine Dragsters, Center Steer Altereds, (pre-1980) Funny Cars, (pre-1972) Door Cars and Trucks • Blown & Injected or Stack or Hat Injected or carburated engines only • .400 Handicap Pro Tree, Ladder Based • All Run • pull into lanes, lane choice picked by chips. Sorry but if we do it by e.t. we would race the same people every weekend. • In a TRUE Chicago Style event, the boundaries of each lane are ignored. Do the cut off at 8.50 or quicker, open it up to carbs and the class would look this way Devin Welsh Jennifer hansen Ralph beitter John Dixon Robbie huck Cameron Charlton Roy rank K.c. hooks Gene lemay Brian aszmus Jay goodie And maybe Clint vannoy if he can keep up. Lol. I don't care because I'm injected and blown, I would just like to see a bigger than 6 car class.

I do not own the race track! Therefore I do not make the rules!
That would look good on a tee shirt. Maybe I could sell them to everyone who races @ ARP?

Man Oh Man this Nostagia class sounds funner all the time! Should be a great show. (AKA bring in mula for ARP!!)
I would stick to the no carbs rule, all though it counts me out. Just seems like the right thing to do.
And Devin, "If I can Keep Up" ?? Ha Ha.. Last I heard your shit aint even done yet.. So better get your truck done, bugs worked out of it, and make some passes before you go an start changing classes. And remember what I told you in Edmonton, "It is easy to be hard"
Mighty Mike: I love your class, but I am just curious. Why the no boundary rule? Is it because these cars are a handfull, or do they run each other off the track in Chi-Town?

I do like the idea of a 4 tenths handicap tree, though. I'll be running my little engine, so I won't run any quicker than about 8.90.

Is it because these cars are a handfull, or do they run each other off the track in Chi-Town? Lol! Idk, the carbs would open that class up a lot and make it a bigger better show for everyone. I was giving you a hard time Clint, don't get your panties in a wad. Maybe i can give mom my injector hat and get a big and ugly like Ralph! And Bill, this is different because breaking 8.00 in any car is a feat, 8.50 is only fair right? This is different because of the pro tree, no bounds rule, the fact that its no electronics, rear engine dragsters aren't allowed, and everything has to be old! Lol. I like the carbs because it almost doubles the size of that class, but if not, then whatever. like I said, I'm already legal for the class. If the no center line rule applies, when I race a faster car, ill just pull until their lane and switch right vefore the finish line. Lol! Beitter vs. Welsh.... that's going to be a Hell of a match up...
