Just getting caught up on reading... It's official "Memory Lane is Open! Let me add a Thank You to Old Blue Goat for jumping in here too ...If you would help me with your name (I think it's Bill) I'll be able to add that to the vid with your car. PM me if you want. I can't work on any of this until next week when off slope and honey do's caught up but I will probably need some assist in pinpointing some of the cars (timeline)so hang in there with me. Great history! The other part of this vid looks to be the following day so I'll take a stab that it was either in July or Labor day 84. When I have time to sit down I'll figure out how to add this history in the vid. I know Dan the Man has a major video project going on and all of this info is going to help him make a vid to immortalize all of you. Keep the memories coming. To White Lightning (ROB) there are several runs of The American Way with John Childs driving in the next section That I should finish in next couple weeks. Thanks again for participating...this is very very Cool stuff! Happy Holidays Randy

Randy, thank you so much for all of this! I can't wait for the next instalment! ;)I've been putting in the hours on The American Way and it's pretty close to getting the chassis painted. I still need to get everything re-certed but it's getting very close. Rob

Thanks again to all for the participation on naming these folks I believe I got all of the names on the vid except for the following that I can’t find so here’s where I need a little help and could use a time in the video to locate. I’m probably just overlooking them -Big Charlie Coffman driving the Red with blue, yellow, orange strips -Jim Hienz is in the Blue with gray 69 Camaro. -Tinker toy Camaro -Jim Vombosie driving the Avalanch challenger or Cuda -Root Beer Express brown 66-67 Chevelle -Mystic Motion (is Dancing lady)
Another question from the bike sections…I think I misunderstood Rick…I put Dave Stacey running with Carmen Kellog (3:35) and running the red turbo bike starting at 1:32. Can someone confirm he was just running the turbo….I’ll remove his name from Carmen’s run if so.
Part 2 (and final) will be on You Tube by morning...another 20 minutes of nostalgia racing using all of the names you folks provided so hopefully I didn't screw them up. Randy

I have not seen this ever and will get back on the names I know that haven't been already told. Only thing I can say is how bad and unsafe the track was for about any car. Most spinning off the line and smoking down track.

Amazing!!! My Dad "Spike" passed away April 2014. So seeing this is awesome! I'd love to find that car one day and get a photo of me with it 30 +years later. I am STILL trying to locate folks that race still at Polar to help me spread Dad's ashes. Take him on one "last ride" down the track.
Thanks to who posted this!!!

Hi Shanna, I'm Dwayne Lile, I was the last person in this state to race the gernade car and that video was some that I had from those days. Randy and Dan did all of the work on converting it from VHS to Dvd... The wagon has long left the state, the last time I saw the car it was in Arizona and I raced it at the super chevy show in march of 1994. I did make it into the magazine but not alot of history was in the article. I worked for Stan Barney for years not sure if you know me or not. I do still race at Alaska raceway park and strang as it is I currently have a 1965 chevelle wagon that I bought out of Arizona and some time this summer will have it all back together and would love to help spread Spike the "Grenade" Simpson around.... Just let me know....
Dwayne
