Just Picked this car up a week ago: 97 Mustang GT 427 small block built for nitrous. Plan is to change out the ignition to a MSD 7531, add a crank trigger, change up the fuel system a bit, add a Pro System Holley carb, clean up the engine compartment, add some Scott Rod tin work under the hood, and in the interior, paint the exterior a slightly different color, and make it King of The Street eligible. Car was originally built in Texas, has 15 1/8 mile passes on it, and 8 1/4 mile passes. Probably going to pull the box out of it, and run Mod when I try to bracket race.

Seen this car at the track a few times, don't think I've ever seen it make a full pass. I BELIEVE I heard the guy say the track wouldn't hold the car which is bull. Nice looking professional looking ride, have fun.

I've seen this on craigslist for a while now. Hope you got a good deal, nice car though. I also heard the statement that the track wouldn't hold the car. May need some suspension work if that's the case. Hope to see you this summer..

We'll just put a dudad over the leaf springs and tape some coils to the bumper and multiply beer time the horsepower and divide that by the number of sober ppl, that will be the # of pounds of tore pressure on the left sode, the right side put it at 44 psi, that's what the tires on my silverado say. Problem solved, all we need is more beer.

Yeah I didn't much care for his add either, all the car needs for traction is a progressive nitrous controller. He was just hitting it with to much spray right at the line. The few times he had it out up here it ran 10.3x on motor, and 9.3x on a 100 shot, so the car wakes right up on nitrous. The former owner actually was a great guy to deal with, and wish he would've made it out to the track more often, but family issues prevented that.

Looking for a Cobra front end for this, so if anyone knows where a 94-98 wrecked Cobra is post up.

Probably going to pull the box out of it, and run Mod when I try to bracket race. Nice car! Looks like its going to be extremely deadly in KOS, and a TON of fun in mod et! Have you ever bracket raced prior to this car?

Bracket raced, not really. I have tried it twice, red light both times. I only make it down on the holiday weekends (I live in Fairbanks), but if I'm going to be there I might as well race as much as possible. As for the KOS I know of one car up here that plans on running next year that will be a handful, who knows what Mike will be running with his new motor, and there is always the unknown. I hope to be competitive in KOS, and maybe I will accidentally win a round or two in Mod this coming summer.

Well welcome to the family! I am sure you'll do well. This ride is more race car than street car, and you have some nice parts here.
May I suggest you put a quick disconnect plug in when you remove the box, you may want to put it back in for certain races.
The more you come down for racing, the better you'll get. This is a great sport, but it does take practice. Thanks to the ARP crew, we run a lot of two day races next year, so this will make your trip a little more justifiable.
Have fun, see you next year, let me know if you need anything, I pit at the end of the E-Row. I love to help people get hooked on this drug! ;D

ax87 Thank you for the advice, and the offer for help, I seem to always need it. I have been coming down over the holiday weekends for the last 4, or 5 years, first with my 03 Cobra ended up getting a best of an 11.1 out of it with the basic bolt ons, then for the last 3 years with my IROC that is listed in the for sale section, just always t/t with those cars, the plan was to start bracket racing the IROC once I had it all sorted it out, and I was just about there over Labor day, and then this Mustang came along at a great price......
