Well,
Where do I start.
Race truck = heavy
In the process of putting together an altered. The car will essentially be a twin to Jay's funny car, minus the body.
We had planned to run the same drive train, but we know how that goes...
Neat new stuff:
Strange top loader rear end
New bellhousing
New blower manifold, cam, lifters, push rods etc
New pistons
Carroll Carter BOSS 429 Hemi heads
Carroll Carter solid aluminum block
Dry sump system
That's about it so far.
Should be a pretty strong contender in trophy class.

Wow Devin, you are letting alot out. Us drag racers are not suppose to tell everyone what we are doing in the off season. But never the less you are taking on a big step!... Then again you are kinda tall.... Lol...... Good luck!

Well, someone in the house of secrets has a big mouth. lol.
I knew the gig was up when I had someone I didn't know walk up to me at the grocery store and ask me about the altered.
So I told Jay, "tell everyone who asks exactly what's going on. Even though they know what's coming, they still won't be ready for it".
I'm excited. I feel like this car will be a real contender. Maybe even in top eliminator when I can afford a new supercharger.

Glad to see that you're stepping up Devin. I've got a new phone #, 907-885-7373. Call me. I need that 514" bottom end back that I loaned you 4 years ago. It's pretty obvious that you don't need it any more. Rob

Pretty cool Devin. If that's what you want then more power to you. As for me, I think the truck was way cool and unique. The altered is.....well.......an altered. Anyway be nice seeing something new going down the track.

I'm with you in a way. I love that truck, and it will still be out there, just slower.
I had to look at where I wanted to go and decide what was the best way to get there. That was the 6 second zone.
Biggest cons that lead me away from the truck
1. Heavy 2. Mild steel only certs to 7.50 3. Built for a shorter driver - became back problems for me 4. Won't go in the trailer without headers removed 5. Pain to work on anything tranny related 6. Pain to work on anything in the engine bay because of the cowl/blower
Someday, in the far future, I will build it again, but much lighter and with low e.t's in mind.
