The leathal weapon is Tom Palmers the other red one is Mike Ginnett,The vega is Ken Siedel, the yellow chevelle is Jerry meshenhimer?spelling.. The nova was Butch Waters/ later was Johns, The red nova behind the two altered was also Tom Palmers, not sure on the altereds,I think the Nash was Dave collenger, The American way did run both small and big blocks... The last motor was a PSI blown small block.. I think thats all I know. Thanks guys for the info. I'm STILL trying to figure out what it had for a front wing. BTW, it's coming along pretty good, got my trans coupler and I'm getting ready to build the motor plates. Might have to get new rear rims (bent ) but I've got all the controls moved (man Jon was short! lol). I've decided to stay with the origional paint and pretty much just do a resto on her (with the exception of the Ford motor). I'm pretty sure I'll have her ready for next season. What a kick in the pants it'll be to be back staring at Pioneer Peek again after all these years......can't wait....... Rob

While I sat in the front of the Staging lane on Sunday I saw a Kawasaki 750 Drag Bike being pushed by me up to the water box. Then I saw this old fellow in leathers walking by me. I soon realized I was looking at Mike Pederson and was actually going to see him make a pass. I can't remember what he ran, but it was faster then I would want to ride a bike.
Way to go Mr.Pederson, you just keep making them passes.

Wow rob seeing pix of ole dragster way cool !!! U want history I,ll give car was originally built by Bob Meyer out of Calif ,still building cars it was built for Jimmy Brown .He ran A/ed with in the states BBC single carb small cube around 430 CID index competition racing, back then .I think his index was around 8.05 then, Brown ran the car for a year or two in ak. My pops bought it from him , he ran it for a year or two carbed. Then we decided to go injected alcohol with a 512 engine that dad built back then . Our goal was to be the first naturally aspirated 7 second dragster in AK.Pops threw me the crower injector book and said u figure that part out i ,llhandle the rest. My parents always inspired me to challenge my self and to put trust in me to reach goals with racing. Any way 4Th pass 7.71 @177.78 !!! To this day if u would have gave my dad a basket ball he could have dunked it ! I never seen him jump so high when we told him what it ran. GREAT TIMES ! 1982. Next blown alcohol sbc all aluminum psi screw w p/g 6.75/211 car was little short but was ablast to watch . Thanx for taking care of our ole friend , it is a great one . J

JAY! Wow, I didn't realize that that was you! (Chassisman11) lol THANK YOU SO much for the history of the car!!! I kept telling Devin that I was going to have to go to your shop one of these days and talk to you about it....but you can see how far THAT got. lol 6.75 @211!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOD!!!! That's phenomenal! Man.....that sure gives me something to aspire to! lol I'm sure that when I finally get the old girl back out on the track I'll be running M/ET for the first season or two. What I have in mind for a goal would be to run in T/D if and when I can afford a bigger motor. Right now all I've got is a 472" BBF that is running about 700 horses. That ought to be able to get me into a mid 8 second ET. When I bought it last winter I looked it all over and decided that it was just too much a part of the Alaskan Drag Racing history to go changing a lot of the car so I decided to keep it as close to original as possible. Wow, hearing some of the history makes me even prouder to own such a phenomenally built and campaigned Race Car! Thank you SO much for such a fine car! In fact, I'd like to give you an open invitation to come and see it at my shop....any time, just give me a call. 350-7099. Rob

Rolling Thunder is and has been Tony's car since he got it from Rod Patson. It is the original "Rat Trap" that Jimmy Moore brought to AK in the 70's. He sold it to Bob Lunsford who had RCS change the front end and roll cage. Lunsford ended up selling it to Rod Pattson and Corky Everts. Rod bought Corky out and the car set in his garage for years until Tony got it in the 80's The dragsters 1 F/E on the left is Tracy's car that Wayne Fisher got from Tony Nancy and sold to John Childs who raced for several years under the name "Ricki Tiki Tavi" He sold the car to another guy and then Tracy bought it and won the championship that year. Skip Coil found the car and sent it back to Nancy before he passed away. The R/E car is Steve Bell from Tok who got the car from the Snelson Lamay team. Pretty sure that it ended up called "Spoiled Rotten" owned by Brian Ratliff that crashed at the finish line. I think that pure poison is Ted Queen and Something Special is Bob Richardson from B & R

The Dr Ron Bacdi car was first brougt to AK by Bob Lundsford in the early 70's and was built by RCS. It was one of the first R/E cars. That car has been past around for the last 40 or so years and last fall it was at Kody and his dads shop in Kenai....
