After looking at a few of Turner's photo's from the 4th...........Here's me thinking D Lyle is the winner of the Wheelie King contest this week end? DL..........what tire and size are you running on that car. You found the right one! The launch was killer.................how was the landing?

Hey Craig, Everyone I talked to said I had that in the bag, We went up to the lounge for a prize and he gave it to Robert Wilson...?... Oh well... Then about 10 sunday night Wayne from Valley R.V. came to our camp said he was SORRY... I should have won the contest, and that he did not see my wheelie, and pulled out a 100.00 bill and gave that to me.... Good Man... As far as my tires, they a mickey thompson drag radial 275/60/15.. I was on the juice with a 175 shot. With a progessive timer set at 30 % for 2.5 seconds.. The landing was not too bad, just a slight ouch in the headers. Hit it on landing and carried it out a ways further.. Look at You tube "Alaska dragracing 1987 camaro" that run is there.

You on an 8" rim? Thinking that tire would work for the Chevelle. My 30" tall x 9" radial non DOT slicks are about spent. Would like to compare the fit between the two............ What kind of 60' times you seeing?
Wayne is a class act! That Wilson dragster tore up some wheels and other items on that pass...... Two winners is a good thing!

I saw Dwayne's wheelstand from the top end of the race track and I thought for sure that that car was going to end up on its shell. When I talked to him on the return track, he said he thought it was going to too. He was shaking quite a bit too. Dont blame him. But, I did have a first hand shot at robert Wilson's wheelstand. That was pretty impressive. I'll post some pictures of it soon. I got some primo shots of it. One thing we should concider, if we have the sponsor money. Is doing a best wheelstand, light etc.... for two classes, like 10.00 and slower and 9.99 and faster. Both of them deserved some money after that.
I wish Wayne would have concidered my uncle mike welsh for the wheelstand thing too. He got the tires up to the stage bulbs and when it came down it smashed the pan in, bent the shock mounts and broke the fan off the radiator. Not to mention, the pan scraped a few rods..
Donations welcome!
As John crump knows. This $100 will be mine next year (: him and I did some talking and he likes the idea I have for the old "deranged" pick em' up truck.

I am on a ten inch rim... I have had a best of 1.32 60ft on spray, and 1.49 on just motor... This tire is a direct replacement for a 28/10.5/15. I have a 4.10 gear and I go through the trap at 65 ish on motor and on spray at a 9.7 I'm at 69-7 tho.. I think my best on the radial is 9.71 at 139.

Oh and one other thing. "Wildest run" Now I think that would be a good one to do. John Dixon would have owned it this weekend. That car was all over the place. But his last run of the weekend he pulled a 7.75 @169 out of the bag. Damn nice run. I may have the best seat in the house, but sometimes its the most dangerous too. Heres a picture of me running away from that thing www.photoreflect.com/store/Orderpage.aspx?pi=1KZR000U000072&po=72&pc=93Its amazing how bad it hurts to have pressurized alcohol thrushed into your eyes.

The sad thing is at the time i didn't know about the contest. I found out after the fact.... I wanted to go straight down the track and was hoping for a 9.5 9.6 run out of it. But the money was nice. I am trying to put a set of trainning wheels on it now.

You might want to check out that Nitrous Progessive Controller too. That don't look like 30% of 175 shot, more like the 175 is 30% of your total shot of 585.

Ohhh. I thought the contest ran all weekend. My bad.
Oh, now were going to resort to name calling Dwayne? well.. dwayne, you big pantywaist. you should have stayed in it. Sandbaggin durin' a wheelie, I never thought I'd see the day....
hahahaha.
And jeff, if they inforced that rule, I wouldn't be able to come to the track at all anymore. Enough said.
