Are wheel spacers on the rear axle legal at the track?
I'm looking at a set of wheels but with my narrowed rear and the offset on these wheels it wouldn't be wide enough under my car. So if I ran 1.5" bolt on spacers then they would fill the wheel wells nice.
Thanks
Tim

Actually I was wondering the same thing. I'd like to space out my rear tires about 1 to 1-1/2" too. But I see those spacers made out of Aluminum and wonder how safe that would be.

Jeff, the cheap cast aluminum ones are junk! The billet aluminum ones are really nice, but I think they only go up to 1" thick.

I machined mine out of billet....NOT cheap! But they're one piece and strong. They're 1 1/16" thick and also register on the axle hub. I'm pretty sure that all the rules say is that you have to have at least one thread showing beyond the wheel nut. Hope that helps. Rob

I've got nearly $400 in mine and if you wanted some that are 1 1/2" thick you'll probably need longer wheel studs too, depending in the wheel design. Rob

Looked at a couple different types to Billet wheel spacers on-line. Would you want the type that slips over your present long wheel studs in your axle, then you put your wheel on and bolt up. Or the type that the spacer is bolted to the axle and you'd put long studs in the spacer for your wheels. Or does it matter ?

I'll get the kind that bolts to the axle and then has my long studs in the spacer.

Shoot, I can't find any 1/2" spacers for 5x4-1/2" that dosen't have 10 holes drilled in each. I just want a frigin spacer to slip over my studs.

That's just about all I've been seeing too, unless you build some. Seriously though, they ought to work just fine. Rob
