Sooooo....I was looking at this beast of an engine (video below) and got to wondering about intercooling. After reading that several more ProMods are going to be running turbos in 2011 (including a new car by Roger Burgess since Brad Personett's record setting success in getting his turbo's dialed in) I'm trying to understand a little more about the set up in drag racing application and what would be needed/required. Questions:1.Air or water intercooling are typical for turbos but is this used if the engine is set up for drag racing? What info I found on street turbos stated liquid was the best & immediate cooling type. I was looking at a few pics of the pro mods/ doorslammers that are running turbos but I can't follow the piping to see where they lead so I can't figure this one out. 2.If liquid cooling, would this typically be a separate cooling system with an electric pump and heat exchanger mounted... and what type of liquid media would you use if so??? Note: There is some use of colorful metaphors around 9:05...he gets a little excited while on the dyno...with reason. Monster 2200 HP NRE TT 632(10.3 L) BBC. Tom Nelson.

IF you really want to know about turbo chargers, call Richard at Hales Technical in Anchorage. He is building a very similar BBC right now for his new car. Twin turbo BBC for his new altered, watch for it this year!! It'll be pretty bad I'm sure.

I'm pretty sure that I saw that chassis and intake sitting at jays shop a lil while ago. Looks like it should be pretty bad. Don't think i've had the oppertunity to watch a turbo altered. Should be somethin to watch.

oooo look at how red those pipes got. I'd sure hate to have to be the one to reach past those to get the valve covers off. Or be the guy that has to reach infront of that big intercooler for something. Cool lookin motor.

I was able to get answers to my questions from Yellowbullet (didn't know they had a turbo forum before I posted here) but that also has brought up a lot more so I will be touching base with Richard. It will be a big help. Thanks for the info!
