Hey Phil...my bad on crappy video but you can at least see how the car launches with the new engine. We'll try that on car cam again next time I make a race...finally got it working late in evening. PM me on correct spelling for your last name and I'll add it on.

Phil, I think me and pumpgas540 both agreed on one thing, you should see what the car does with a standing burnout. Or starting with a small standing and doing a roleout. It looks like it was spinning a bit in this video. Just an idea. Great looking ride with a nice hauler to go with it. Did you figure out your alternator belt issue?
Also, cool video randy!

Yhea, i agree. Blew the tires off in the last run, there probably wasnt enough heat in them. Im going to go back to my old standing burnout method and go from there. Will be working on the alternator supports this week, should be all good in a day or too.
BTW-Thanks for the video!

A rolling burn out works fine...you need to put it in high gear and hit it!

A rolling burn out works fine...you need to put it in high gear and hit it! I think he did. Just do a standing for a few seconds and then roll. I know! Man when that broke loose it sure was violent. 9.05, almost in the 8's already! Pretty sure your the fastest car with a 'stock' chassis. Haha.

That 9.05 run i lifted before i shifted the car to 2nd and then rolled back on but not full WOT. There was more left in it for sure, just need to work out my burnout and get it to stick on the launch. My 60's were not any quicker than my small block nitrous motor so there is some tire spin for sure. It sure caught me off gaurd when it broke loose, banged my rev limiter for a second. Going to turn it down another 500 rpm's or so after that. Another day of test and tune and then maybe will be ready to race the car.

Hey Phil, I'd be more than happy to help/give some pointers with your blown car...they can be a handfull...you may remember my red El Camino Any advice/pointers are welcome for sure, i just plan to take it slow and learn the car for a while. I was very happy with how the car handled down the track, straight as an arrow and very smooth. Not sure if I remeber your car? ?

I ran a blown alcohol El Camino 2001-2003 ran 8's @ 160...stock chassis and 10.5 tires...and to the young kid with the ford...untill you driven something as bad ass as Phils Camaro, you don't have a clue....

I drove an 8.50 altered at 16. Altereds are a handfull. It may not be as 'bad ass' as phils car but I can almost guarantee its more of a handful to drive. And if your saying that I have no idea how violent that tire slip was, your dead wrong. Try having an altered sasche back and for at 150. That will take your head off, no matter how hard it is! And if you don't believe me, ask mike conner, he drives an 8.60 door car and the altered was a huge scare for him. Wait, shoe box, did your el camino have a primer gray hood? I think Danny Davis bought that at an auction.

I've driven fast altereds, front and rear engined dragsters, and 8 and 9 second door cars....I agree with altereds being hard to drive....but nothing compared to a overpowered car that lights the tires at the 1000 ft mark at 150 mph....if you don't stay in it good possibility you may crash...ask Earl how nervous he was everytime I pulled up...if you turn up the blower on your truck you'll see! Best feeling in the world! You'll never want anything less! I think that was my old car at that auction....sure looked rough...I sold it to Frank in about 2004 or 5....hope to have my new car out next year...untill then I get to share driving duties with my friend Matt who just bought Keith Boitzs 68 Camaro

Nice start Phil. Congrates on getting it done. As for your driving, It's called "seat Time". Take your time, have fun and enjoy the ride. Pick through all the help and only keep what you can use. I think i remember Shoebox's Car, Blown Big Block, It didn't have a hood when i saw it. That thing was nasty. See you all this weekend. Be Safe.
