Hey!! not to change the subject, but i was just reading some NHRA Nostalgia rules. How about a Handicap pro tree. Now that would level the playing field all around. Has anyone ever done that? Sounds interesting to me.

If Earl and Karen have made up their minds on the class changes for 2012 (which I think they have or they wouldn't have announced it already), I will respect their decision and support them in anyway that I possibly can. I'll just be happy to have a place to run our car! I have seen lots of local race tracks in the Midwest close up in my time, and they just get overtaken by trees and grass. Well, throw in a couple of weeds for ambiance. And it is and was really sad to watch that tragedy happen! I really don't want to see that happen here in Alaska. Drag Racing is my passion and I would race even if there were only one class to run in! Just put a number on the window and let's go race!
Please support your local race track.....

Handicap Pro Tree guys The handicap pro tree was in play at West coast NHRA bracket races, can't remember exactly when, maybe sometime in the late 80's or early 90's; One big flaw killed it. Staging procedure on a pro tree consists of... second guy stages, you better mat it! If there was a big handicap, the fast car was sitting there waiting, frying the converter on full kill. No mat = bad reaction time.
Of course, there is a device that will automatically mat the throttle for you, based on a box controller set for the handicap times....

I agree with MIke when I started racing at the track it was all one big et bash except for thesuper stock boys stan Barney , Larry whitkie, Jim livingston .and rootbeer express which was a stock class car drivenby I can't remember his name grat big guy. first trophy I won was against Clarence Lemays Dragster there was a true drag racer and sportsman. I will race anything but drag racing is home for me. that is all I have to say and my last street race was the first pass down the strip.
