Before we get started on this I'm going to ask that the discussions in this thread STAY on topic...If you want to talk about another class or complain about something then, please be respectful of this thread and start another one.....Thank you.


These class rules have been presented to me and I was asked if I would present them for general discussion. Personally I think that this is a great idea.
After discussing the year limitations with several people it has been decided to open it up to the 1975 cars and older, the rest would stand as written:

ALL CALL CLASS:

ALL NOSTALGIA CARS CALLED AT THE SAME TIME:
Nostalgia 1 to lanes 2 & 3 - runs first
Nostalgia 2 to lanes 4 & 5 - runs second

Before and During Eliminations , Please check Ladder for pairing.
It is your Responsibility to line up next to the car you are paired with on the
ladder.
This will make Eliminations alot easier and quicker for all.

If Possible, make Two Qualifying runs, one run in each lane.
lowest ET of both runs is your Qualifying ET to be used for ladder.
Unless only one run made then that ET will be used.
Can be done at any time during Open track or Test & Tune, but before Eliminations.
Crew member can tell water box person a Qualifying run is being made,
so tower is aware and can record run for ladder.




NOSTALGIA - 1

Dial in: 8.49 or quicker
Tree: Pro-Tree or bracket Start, their choice.
Motor Type: Any size, Blown, Injected, Stacks or Hat Injection or Carbs, NO NOS,
nitro, or Turbo's allowed
Fuel: Methanol or Racing Gas Only
Vehicle Type: Front engine dragster, Center steer roadster, Altereds, pre-80 funny
cars, pre-70 door car or truck
Delay/Crossover Box: Not Allowed
Throttle stops: Not Allowed
Electric/air shifter Allowed
Rev Limiter, shift light Allowed.
Ladder: based on qualifying. 1vs2, 3vs4, 5vs6 etc. Faster car has lane choice.
boundaries: No crossing of Center line. First to finish line wins.
Red Lights: foul start = DQ'd during eliminations
ALL ARP RULES APPLY.


NOSTALGIA - 2

Dial in: 8.50 or slower
Tree: Handicap
Motor Type: Any size, naturally aspirated only, Carbs or injected only
NO blowers or turbo's allowed, NO NOS, No power adders allowed,
Fuel: Methanol or Racing gas Only
Vehicle Type: front engine dragster or Nostalgia Rear engine dragster, center steer
roadster, altered, pre-80 funny car or pre-70 door car or truck
Delay Box/Crossover Box: NOT Allowed
Throttle stops: Not Allowed
Air or electric shifter Allowed
Rev Limiter/ Shift light Allowed
Ladder based on Qualifying. if 6 cars; 1vs6 2vs5 3vs4 etc. Faster car has lane choice.
Boundaries: No Crossing of Center line
Red light: Foul start= DQ'd during Eliminations
Break out rule applies
If you Break out, Run quicker then 8.50, you MAY! be bumped up to next class.
ALL ARP RULES APPLY

NOSTALGIA - 2, same here. Open to Nitrous & Turbo's, One power adder only.

OK, good point. Also (and I think that it was just a typo/oversite) Front AND Rear engine Dragsters in both classes.

So let me get this strait, if i run a 8.00 and ralph runs a 7.00 in qualifying, would we be doing staggard starts in eliminations?
Just curious.
I really like this a lot. Only thing i'd worry about is having it as two classes, but i really like it.

Ok i just read next to 8.49 or quicker, the words "dial in" so this would be a bracket race with a staggered start...

I'd think that any races would have to be Dial-in. We don't have the car count of cars that could run Heads-up, unless it's Top Eliminator or a 10+ second class.

If you want to run bracket racing stay where you are at.... The best thing with the PN it gives cars that are not consistant with all the BS timers and delay shit a class to run all out. Devin if you can't make it tough shit.. put or shut up.. I like the idea of a 8.60 class it would make another great heads up class... NO MORE CRYING CAUSE YOU CAN'T RUN THE NUMBER OR YOU HAVE NOT RUN in OVER 10 YEARS..... Randy

Sorry I can't afford to blow up motors every 2 weekends like some cars.
Only thing I wanted was what most other racers want, a fair chance to win, and I'm sorry, but dixons little fiat will outrun my truck 9/10. My truck won't cert to as fast as they are running, and I'm not dropping it for a dime a dozen funny car or altered.

This doesn't concern your team at all randy. But out, unless you wanna give me some of your deep pockets.

Back on subject, I would like the dial in set up, because like I just said above, everyone wants a chance to win, and if your car is so inconsistent that you can't run within a 10th or two 10ths, you need to go to your drawing board and find out what's wrong.

There are alot of cars that don't fit the Pro Nostalgia format or ET's. There a Shit load that would fit in Nostalgia - 2 as above, and most are 72 and older cars. I wouldn't have a problem running against the "Wild Child" in a Bracket format. Hell I might get lucky and beat him. Hell I'd even run against Harris if they'd de-tune to 8.50 LOL

I know the class sounds alot like Mod ET but with a Ladder. But we could have both.

I'm with Randy on this one. An 8.60 or 8.90 heads up class would be cool. A nostagia bracket class is a waste of time...we already have 2 classes.

And Devin...I'd like to have your deep pockets, you blew up your engine almost every time out! And by the way, smart ass, it does concern Randys team...last I saw they had a small blk dragster running. You have alot to learn , youngster...and by the way...your truck drives through the converter all the way down the track...you should look into that...

Never blew my motor up. Blew through a set of head gaskets and melted the heads once. Only reason they were fixed is because Jay did me a huge favor, otherwise, I wouldn't have raced any more that season. So talk about my "deep pockets".

Last time I saw, their dragster ran mid 10's, so if anyone who runs mid 10's is in the running for this nostalgia class, we better have ARP send out a newsletter. And im not quite sure what qualifies as a "nostalgia" rear engine dragster.

And you're right ya old bastard, I am a smart ass, and yes, my truck did run through the convertor, another piece of evidence that I dont have deep pockets and cant afford a $4,000 convertor.

Put me behind these guys. I like the idea of a 8.60 (or close to it) heads up class. Sounds like fun and I can go fast enough! ;D

The thought of another bracket class sounds like a bad idea to me. Too much cost for the track, and in my opinion we don't need it.

Perhaps some of you guys need a "special" event more geared to whatever is in your garage? (Find a sponsor to flip the bill, not as much as you might think, talk to Danny with ARP) She's a total sweet-heart and she will go out of her way to make you happy. Make up whatever rules you want and knock yourselves out. Its really not that much to sponsor a weekend or day race.

Or perhaps MOD could simply be changed to a ladder? There may be other ways to get whatever is hiding in your garage out to the track. Trying to develop a class may not be the best way to achieve your goal is all I am trying to say.

There... There is my measly two little cents on your Nostalgia Bracket Classes idea.

I think there needs to be two classes at the track. "Electronics" and "No Electronics". Run what you brung and yes a ladder would be nice. Period. There I have laid in my 2 cents as well. There are way to many problems to fix out there without having to create more.
