My biggest problem with being in mod is the fact that we can't hot lap.
Here's a thought.... Could we open up top eliminator to anything 8.00 and quicker without a box?... Everyone else slower can be in mod... Everyone else slow with a box can be in whatever the electronics class is called?
I'd be good for that...
If all else fails, we still have the class Dixon and Robby used to run, Top Test & Tune...

I'm with Randy on this one. An 8.60 or 8.90 heads up class would be cool. A nostagia bracket class is a waste of time...we already have 2 classes. Put me behind these guys. I like the idea of a 8.60 (or close to it) heads up class. Sounds like fun and I can go fast enough! ;D The thought of another bracket class sounds like a bad idea to me. Too much cost for the track, and in my opinion we don't need it. Perhaps some of you guys need a "special" event more geared to whatever is in your garage? (Find a sponsor to flip the bill, not as much as you might think, talk to Danny with ARP) She's a total sweet-heart and she will go out of her way to make you happy. Make up whatever rules you want and knock yourselves out. Its really not that much to sponsor a weekend or day race. Or perhaps MOD could simply be changed to a ladder? There may be other ways to get whatever is hiding in your garage out to the track. Trying to develop a class may not be the best way to achieve your goal is all I am trying to say. There... There is my measly two little cents on your Nostalgia Bracket Classes idea. Good luck guys. Good deal. Thank you very much for the input. Rob

I think there needs to be two classes at the track. "Electronics" and "No Electronics". Run what you brung and yes a ladder would be nice. Period. There I have laid in my 2 cents as well. There are way to many problems to fix out there without having to create more. Thank you for your input. There IS a solution for all our wants AND the tracks' needs. We just have to intellinently ferret them out. Rob

There are already two classes. Top sportsman - Box Class. page 19 2012 ARP rules. Mod ET - No Box class. page 2 2012 ARP rules. These are the rules that were set up last winter by a group of Racer.
2012 was the First year for a "Nostalgia" Class. There are very few cars in the class as is. There are many cars that fit this category but don't run it for what ever reason. In an effort to increase car count and make it a viable class these suggestions were submitted.

You forget, there is another class called "Super ET". That class has steadily declined. There was hope that the Nostalgia class would support itself but don't see that happening either. To bad because it fits a lot of cars that for some reason don't come out. Next season there should be a couple more cars for that class, let's hope.

I agree, but "Super ET" is for cars running 11.50 and slower. It's a great class for street cars if they'd come out. As for the Nostalgia class, I hope Robbie gets his done and who ever else is building. But, those are suppose to be Blown Alcohol monsters almost top eliminators from what I heard. The point is, to promote Nostalgia cars. Two category's in one class. There are many Nostalgia type cars that will fit NE2 category and a few in NE1 category for now. But as a class it has a lot of cars. We can't make a class around any ONE! car/truck, we have to look at them all and see what fits where and how they fit together. And looking at the suggested class layout, that is what the attempt is. Just like top eliminators, why aren't they running in Top Sportsman class? But for the class index, they could. And their broken down by type, injected, blown,NOS,Turbos,Nitro,Alcohol,ET. Common factor is, they all run 7 seconds or less. The thing is, look at the category's and see which one you'd fit in. I know NE2 would have some very nice cars in it. If you don't feel you fit the class or don't want to, there is always one of the others, or run them both. The whole point is! Get that piece of junk out of the garage and bring it out! Even if we need a hammer it will fit some where.

I don't disagree with you John, what I'm trying to say is we need to fix what we have first before we add more dilema to the mix. People are giving up and moving on to different things because of numerous issues. They combined Top Dragster and Top ET together to increase the class size which helped some but it seems that a few of those were unhappy with the change and gave up.

I have noticed that a lot of other tracks have multiple series within the season. All we have is our classes and a big points chase. Maybe if we had our normal classes, our points chase, and then ADD another series or two. (I think super and mod should be combined)
The other two series would be like street cars and perhaps something like what NE2 is geared towards. These other series would probably only be held 3-5 times a season like only on big weekends or something.
I think that other tracks have multiple series within a season to bring out all demographics of cars. Very similar to what we all want. Lets face it... if your Joe Speedy and your sporting a 13 second hot-rod truck, you probably don't stand much of chance winning any given weekend in mod, your going to get discouraged and go fishing. IF there was another series for these guys to come out on the big weekends and not have to race the class champions, you might have more fun and come out more often. Exactly like the guy with the bad-ass FED in the garage. He doesn't want to race Nathan every weekend either. He would rather race similar cars with more equal odds of winning in a class where he fits a little better.
Whatever is conceived has to make the track money, not become a liability, and not just divide up the existing cars we do have. It has to bring out more cars Maybe these series cost a little less, but the track keeps 50%. Track makes a buck, and Joe gets to beat on his 91 Silverado.
Just ideas for the think-tank. Cut it up.

Wasn't KOS suppose to be like what your talking about? A Race held on the big weekends to bring out more street cars? Anyway. This discussion is about expanding the "Nostalgia Class". This could be a deal for the Track to promote Nostalgia Drag Racing. 2 Classes of Feds, Altereds, willies, roadsters, dragsters. It's just an idea. If the other classes are having a problem, maybe they should work on fixing their problems. Hell! I run Pro Test&Tune and it's fine. But I could run NE2 no problem. But we don't have one. I can't suggest any changes to a class I don't run in and don't understand the problems their having. If the KOS guys are having a problem, maybe someone should suggest changes or clarifications to those rules so everyone understands them. Same for the others. If there's a problem work on it now, not in April or May. And as always, My thoughts are not for myself. I commend you guys and your shootouts, great idea that seems to work and I thank you for what you do for the track. I want the track to make as much as possible, weather permitting. Because we all know where that will leave us.

We tried to fix KOS. Had numerous meetings and addressed all the complaints, well 99 percent of them anyhow. What happened? Those that complained and wanted the changes to the class and got them either didn't show or showed and ran time trials. Earl is flat tired of the class when not enough cars show up to have the event, even after the rules were changed to please the complainers.
