Lots of new stuff. Got rid of the old worn out V6 front coils and replaced with some new V8's, new strut camber / caster plates, K frame, A arms and new ARP long lugs for the front as well. On to the motor soon with new valve springs and maybe lifters too.

Thanks. Unfortunately I didn't shave off near as much weight as I was hoping to. In bouncing around to different forums I was lead to believe the tubular K frame and A arms would be around 100 pound savings. When you look at the factory K frame you can envision it easily weighing 200-250lbs. So after getting the new shiny red stuff in I immediately weighed it and it was 60lbs with all hardware. Guess what, the factory one only weighs 80lbs . Now I'm not that good at math so I called my brother that went through a couple of calculus classes and he confirmed that there was only a 20lb loss. Go figure. Anyway the fun I had with the plasma cutter netted another 5 pounds off so I'm down 25 pounds so far. Loads more room in the engine bay now though.

I'm with Jeff on this one. Your weight savings can be matched by the addition of a 10lb bottle!
And you thought your were not going to be Wheelie king!

I did this kind of work to the frame of my 1961 Catalina when I was a kid, it was called Swiss Cheesing. That car was 4,200 #'s. Wine and cheese always go together! ;D

Looking good JJ! I have a Flaming River Manual Steering Box that came off my Camaro if your interested in removing your factory box. It is quite a bit smaller, and "looks" a lot lighter. (not sure of the weight) I probably only had a season or two on it before I converted to a rack and pinion. If interested let me know.
