You know there's one person that should be involved in any committee or rules making for KOS, and that is Michelle McKay with Happy Bear. That lady has ran & won in KOS for a few years now. I know she'd be interested in keeping it going and improving it.

Not "bagging" on anyone. Ron Roman bought a car that was a proven winner in the King Of the Street venue from Ray Martin. That car has been THE CAR to beat in that race forever. Enter Chip, he built a car that could run with Ron, both on the gun. It's Chips car that had the bungees on the windows..BFD! No rule violation there. Ron's car has to skirt the water box or it drags the ground. Big Deal! It's a low slung street car! Last I saw Chips car run, it was in Top Dragster and clicking off easy 8.20's. I have not witnessed the red chevelle run sub 8.50's. I think it is capable of doing so (more juice) but the chassis not certtified for sub 8.50's? As far as the wiper requirement and my dislike of that particular rule. I was at a KOS event, and did not plan on entering that event as the burnt up wiper motor on my all steel, pump gas, iron headed, full exhaust, all glass windows, battery and power steering right where GM put it street car would not pass tech on the "Functional wiper" rule. Here's the kicker.............at the drivers meeting they stated they were short of the car count for making the field. I offered up to enter the Chevelle, but was told "if the wiper dont work, you dont qualifiy". So I parked my car and watched a rental car enter to make minimum count. No interst in that race since I started building a real race car. That race has little if anything anything to do with real street cars under current and proposed rules. Call it a heads up event, it's the only one that takes place at ARP. Even top dragster is a bracket bash. Here's me declaring Rick Nissen and his Pump Gas 540 as the KING OF THE STREET. He drives that car when and where he wants, races the slobber out of it on a regular basis. If we are going to have a heads up class, make it a real one. Hey Satillite, you got cage issues to get legal for the 9's part of your signiture? You get your ride legal for KOS under existing rules, I will fix my wiper motor and see you in the lanes...................Plenty of street cars with wheelie bars and no cage?

Too bad that satellite isn't caged yet. That's the kind of car that deserves to be in this kind of class. I will agree with frozenws6! I know of a Fantastic welder in Fairbanks. I know one here in Anchorage, but you'd probably have to make an appointment

[Mod ET Dial 0-11.99 (No Delay Box), Top ET Dial 0-11.99 (Delay Box). There is no rule that says that you have to move into Top Dragster if you run quicker than 8.50 ;D OK see right there, 0-11.99 ET's. Ever wonder about that car that could run 0 And how is it possible for Jay Goodie to run with a MOD ET class designation on his car and run the number he does? Don't worry about Jay Goodie, he's all over the place on ET's One approach would be to master this device, work to become competitive in the multitude of classes available where it is legal. And actually win rounds? You race on one of the great practice tracks in the nation. Michael Ginnett IHRA 566 B What if everybody showed up running Delay Boxes, even the cars that ran 20.5 ET's. The programmers Shoot Out

Ut OH!........dat der is sum smack down. Dont worry about Jay Goodie? Good call. Worry about something else. My good friend could give a rats ass about a bracket race. It's a real quick Car Show for now, we will worry about racing later. That's a new car for him, less than a dozen passes to date. When he does get comfortable in the car, will turn up the wick and go quicker. That's his bidness, God Bless him and I got dibbs on the current blower when he goes Meth / Big and Ugly............... ;D

I would like to see some big changes in this class..... Rules are open for interpretation.. Street cars should be that!!!!! How about we have a sit down..... Mike,Clint,Rick,Dave,Chip,Carl,Ronnie, and EARL or the new track manager... I say we get it set up to have two classes, Heads up pro or outlaw street, and true street... I've got some ideas and I know 9secondsatellite has some rules in place from the KOS in fairbanks.... His car is fast! just go watch it on Youtube...71 Satellite 9.34@147.... Oh and thanks Devin .. I do have a street car and I drive it.

somehow candyman i thought you would respond to my post with some hostility. wasn't trying to . just asking which direction you were going? if you are going to have a discussion on this topic then stick to one side of it. you first said that the wiper rule should go away(because you wiper motor no worky) and then you said that the rules shouldn't be changed and that other people want them changed to "fit" their cars. i don't have a problem adding another 150lbs to my 4000lbs car to run kos. what i have a problem with is that i wasn't allowed to run the 10.5w tire and that kept me from wanting to spend more money and then get turned away for something so minor. thanks for the comments devinwelsh and dwl5x18. if you want to pm me the welder in fairbanks you're talking about i will look into it. let's get back to the discussuion of what other ideas for kos could possibly be. i think we all agree that building a tube chassis car and then never driving on the street because it couldn't withstand the drive is not really a street car. we all have a difference of opinion on what is considered a street car but it is up to the powers that be to figure out what will work for the betterment of the class. i have some ideas that doesn't eliminate those faster cars but rather gives some of the non-tubbed cars a better chance of competing with them. and i agree, dwaynes car is the fastest, most street legal car of the group.

Well I just left a message for anybody that will call me back on the track cell phone. I just hate to spend a bunch of time on this prior to knowing if ARP is actually going to implement and enforce the new rules. Sounds like the Subaru Guy, (sorry I do not know who you are) sounds like he's already neck deep in this subject, and the last thing I want to do is duplicate his efforts. Somebody needs to be the Grand-Puh-Bah. (not me) and we all make suggestions to him. He should then tally up the common denominators and wallah, we have new rules. Simple Right? Any nominations for the Grand-Puh-Bah? Rick Nissen loves this kind of shit, Dwayne Lile has been a very succesfull racer for years, Mighty Mike is well liked and respected. WR6 Subaru Dude sounds like he's really into it. Maybe somebody that does not race KOS would be best? (Completely unbiassed this way) In a perfect world we would have a representative from several sides, Imports, Box, Regular KOS participant etc etc..... I suggest we start here. Elect an officer, and a few people for the board. Any suckers out there looking for abuse?
