I have been running mid 9s for the last 4 seasons on my small block backed by a small squirt of nitrous. With the availability of N2O and reliable refills stations up here along with ridiculous pricing all of a sudden i have decided it is time to step it up a notch. With the poor weather and my work schedule, I have decided to put the car up and have already started the tear down. I am going to go with a big cube BBC for sure and my goal is to get in the 8s @ 150. I have already started the fab work for a chute mount and dropped another 60 lbs from the nose of the car. This will be a NA effort and I have already got a long laundry list of improvements to do. So everyone, have a good rest of your season and hopefully i can be back in the spring with a whole new beast.

The season has been a little goofy and if I remember right your schedule has been even goofier (if that's a word ). Anyway sorry to see the Camaro being ripped apart but can't wait till it comes out badder then ever. Keep us posted with pics and good luck.

Sounds like a good plan! You could take some of the Spilloinaire Money you have been socking away and buy Goodies BLOWN 565 motor and run some 8's this fall That will be a fun project, what's in plans for a motor?

Actually looking at a 565 Rhere Morrison or a Sonny Leonard's 565, I have some work ahead and have plenty of time to pick a motor. Need to start with a little chassis work, and some minor rearrangement of things. Also need to have my power glide beefed up from where its built now and for sure a re-stall or new converter all together. Already have made some good progress on the chassis but time to go back to work for a couple weeks, we will really start to roll after hunting season.

i am very happy with my 565 from dyno-flo my 565 is 973hp and 798 ft lbs Is that the outfit in Henderson, Nevada? I have read lots of feedback on the net about that shop................................ For my money and purchase from shops thousands of miles away from here, only two make the short list. RM and Sunset.

I appreciate all the feedback. After talking with RM, there 565 is advertised at 950 but they said the two on the shelf both came in around 1010hp. I do plan on talking with sunset, but that blown 565 that is rumored for sale could work also lol.

I know, checked out there web site today. Kind of scares me a little, Learned a long time ago you get what you pay for. Sounds like the guys here have had good luck with them but when you search around there is a lot of negative feedback on the net. I did talk with sunset today and I really like there 582 pro series, its a little more than i was budgeting for but it is stuffed with great parts including the belt drive and vac pump. What are you running in that Camaro Craig?

It's a second hand RM 509 crate motor. I bought it from Andy Handy who ran it approx 25 passes and then decided to go with a new chassis. That deal did not work out and he sold me everything that was to transfer to his new ride. Scored the fresh engine, nice JW glide, Neal Chance converter, ignition, 16 V battery and charger and some other things as well......... That and parts from a few Jay Goodie garage sales was close to outfitting a bare roller.
I did rattle the piss out of that motor last July.........striclty driver error and steep learning curve that resulted in a bent valve and push rod, chunked a lifter. The valve train was modified with a Jessel set up with more spring than RM had installed. The push rod manufature (Manton) said that the ones that failed were not best for the spring pressure in use. The new ones are bullet proof and should be for I paid for them! Was a good time to bronze bush the lifter bores as it had to come apart anyway.....thats now a standard practice at RM. Down for gear swap at this time, looking to loose a little RPM at the stripe.........
Hard not to be tempted by bargain prices...........that's like HP at nearly 40 percent less than RM being offer by Dynoflo........................
